Vallourec at ADIPEC 2024: Driving Innovation for the Energy Transition

11/19/2024

From November 4 to 7, 2024, Vallourec participated in ADIPEC 2024, the world’s premier energy industry event held in Abu Dhabi, UAE. With over 205,000 attendees and 2,250 exhibiting companies, this year’s edition reaffirmed ADIPEC’s status as a key platform for the global energy industry.

The event was a great opportunity to showcase our cutting-edge solutions and connect with customers and prospects from across the Middle East and around the world, engaging in meaningful conversations, update partners on our latest innovations, and strengthen relationships.

Key topics showcased

This year, visitors at our stand discovered Vallourec’s Delphy solution, a groundbreaking system for storing compressed hydrogen in underground pressure vessels. Thanks to a large-scale model, attendees could understand how Delphy connects to the hydrogen supply chain and through virtual reality, they could also experience an immersive tour of the Delphy demonstrator at Vallourec’s Aulnoye-Aymeries site. Vallourec® New Energies teams also presented our solutions for Carbon Capture & Storage (CCUS), geothermal energy, and hydrogen projects.

Another important aspect at our stand this year was services. The booth featured live demonstrations of TallyVision, our digital solution for optimizing pipe-running operations. Visitors also explored innovative services such as Prime Mapping, Tubular Management Services (TMS), and Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM), which together offer unparalleled value for the operator’s entire supply chain.

Our exhibits highlighted Vallourec’s manufacturing capabilities in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing our ability to deliver high-quality, locally produced solutions tailored to regional needs. Lastly, showcasing samples of VAM® 21 and VAM® HTTC connections designed for extreme conditions, Vallourec demonstrated its expertise in serving offshore, onshore, and unconventional applications.

Technical Contribution to the Hydrogen Sector

In addition to the stand, Vallourec experts presented a technical paper co-authored with Gasunie on November 7. The session, titled “OCTG Connections Test Protocol for Underground Hydrogen Storage,” highlighted key findings from successful testing of premium OCTG connections for hydrogen storage in underground salt caverns. This presentation underlined Vallourec’s leadership in advancing hydrogen as a critical pillar of the energy transition.

This year’s ADIPEC provided Vallourec with an unparalleled opportunity to connect with current customers and prospects in the Middle East to share updates on our solutions, and reinforce our role as a trusted partner for the energy industry. By showcasing our expertise in traditional oil and gas operations and innovations in hydrogen, CCUS, and geothermal energy, Vallourec continues to play a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable energy future
